The rack mountable Transmitter RF Head Control Unit (TCU) and Receiver RF Head Control Unit (RCU), encloses in a 1-unit standard rack the best of what can be offered with regards to flexibility and performance.
The TCU controls the Transmitting RF Head (which can be either MT or TMC/P or CPM/T) by sending and receiving control signals whilst powering the RF Head through a feeding supply (approx. 48V non-stabilized). Finally the 70 MHz IF signal is sent for up-conversion and amplification after which transmission is effected. All these 3 signals are multiplexed on an RG216 coaxial cable, linking the control unit with the RF Head.
Conversely the RCU controls the Receiving RF Head (which can be either MR or R/P or CPM/R) by sending and receiving control signals whilst powering the RF Head through a feeding supply (approx. 48V non-stabilized). Finally the received RF signal is down-converted in the Head and the 70 MHz IF signal is sent to the RCU through an RG216 coaxial cable. Hence the received signal can be obtained.
Three different options are available. The IF mode system allows either an analogue modulator/demodulator (MOD_SL/DEM_SL) or digital modulator/demodulator (DDM310-M/D) to be externally connected to the control unit.
Alternatively the analogue modulator/demodulator can be integrated in the TCU/RCU.
For systems requesting a DVB-T standard a COFDM modulator/demodulator, also available with MPEG-2 4:2:0/4:2:2 encoder/decoder, can be as well included in TCU/RCU.

The programming and the monitoring of the main parameters, apart from being done through the local interface (keypad and display on the front panel), can also be controlled remotely through an RS232 / RS485 / Ethernet (SNMP) interface.
